There are times we need a helping hand, we feel bad, we feel we are unable to or want to feel better. This starts the spiral of emotions, emotions like anger, fear and guilt, that can stay hidden, dormant for a long time they are waiting to spill over. Now they are taking control of your choices, your time with family, friends, work feeling stifled trapped. You are now feeling the struggle of these unhelpful feelings when all you want is just to feel better.
How can psychotherapy and clinical hypnosis help?
Hypnosis:
Not everyone can be hypnotised. If a person is prepared to reach their goals wanting to let go of the issues holding them back and feel open to hypnosis there’s a good chance of successfully improving. Clients ask me all the time about stage hypnosis, can I turn them into a chicken? These shows are performed by experts in their field. I’m not trained in stage hypnosis.

Have you ever been at a work meeting, and the meeting has gone on longer than you expected? Your mind may be wondering, I should be…at home now, I need to pick up the kids, from day-care/school, washing, cleaning, sending emails, getting back to the match on TV, friends on social media etc.
Are you still at work now? Or the meeting? Or busy in your head? Has part of you left the room to do all these other things? This phenomenon may be a form of “self-hypnosis state” we just drift off into day dream. Only to be brought back by a colleague doing the hum in our ear or nudged by the person next to you for not following the boss as they’re talking to you.
As you can see from the above explanation hypnosis is not a mysterious power.

Both therapies work hand in hand to help you live a better, healthier life and shown to improve emotions positive changes in you, your body and brain. As psychotherapist’s role is in talk therapy, we, yes, we unpack ideas, or solutions to your issues you may not have discussed previously to anyone. The therapy session helps you understand, what’s realistic for you to achieve, (e.g., we can’t go round feeling happy all the time, we’d go out of our mind trying to achieve this, it’s not realistic) we discuss small changes, we use gentle nudges to help you think through the issue, to make a new path. Analysing what’s holding you back by helping understand what you’re going though and helping you implement the new actions.
